Art History

Art history should ideally be studied as part of history, following the same time period that you are studying in history.  In addition, having good art books in the home that the children can just flip through in their free time develops appreciation in a pleasant way.  Visiting art museums should be done a few times a year if possible.  Even though the thought of taking young children to an art museum may strike terror into the hearts of some, starting at a young age will make enjoying art a normal part of life.  It is also an excellent opportunity to practice good manners.

These books, formerly known as Mommy, It's a Renoir, include postcard-sized pictures or famous works of art with two of each for matching.  They provide a fun and easy way to become familiar with beauty.
This is the 2nd level with slightly more challenging activities.

This is the 3rd level.
This is step 4 and moves beyond the previous levels to help the child learn the names of the artists of the famous works of art.

This is the final level so far, and it goes into greater detal about each work of art that it includes.
This includes directions for how to implement the program.
