What child has not dreamed of being a valiant knight (or a very brave princess, for that matter), battling a dragon or evil foe? A desire to find something more beautiful and realistic than the plastic shields and swords commonly available compelled my husband to create handmade shields and swords for our children, letting them decide what heraldic symbols to use and what mottos to add. Watching the enthusiastic joy of our children playing with their friends and father, we knew that other children would love these too.

Our wooden shields feature dual, adjustable, glove leather straps for soft, durable control. Each shield is hand-painted for you using authentic heraldic imagery. The swords are modeled after the practice swords that squires used. They are handmade from select hard maple for durability and proper heft with blunt edges and rounded tip.

On the following pages, you can find our entire stock of shields organized by price. The price level varies based on the number of elements and the size of the shield. There are some duplicates, but none will be exactly alike since each shield was made by hand. Monitor colors may vary, but if you drag your mouse over the image, a description of the colors will appear. The rounded shields are 12" x 14", and the pointed shields are about 30% smaller. Don't forget to take a look at swords as well.
